Idea The directives of the growing of a tree are analysed and then assigned to the photografie of a human, to make him grow like a tree. The picture is divided in arms, legs , body, hands and head. This parts have the functions of bole, knob and fruits.

Generativity Generativity is achieved, on the one hand by the recorded photo and on the other hand by random-values, which decide about the size of the tree, the number of knobs, fruits and so on.

Visualisation | interaktion The person is recorded in front of a white background. The application inserts a grid over the video-picture and sends it to the beamer on the other side if the room. On mousepress the growing begins: The video disappears and a tree is growing. It consists of the grid-elements of the photographie.

Technologie Software is implicated in Processing. The image-source is a miniDV-videocam, which is connected with firewire and sends its streaming-picture to the computer.

Staging The project is realised as installation, which is build in the middle of the room. The person, who will grow as a tree, is standing in front of a white wall, while another person starts the import-process.

The future The computer saves the created trees and shows earlier trees in the background.
